Akila LT Ice Axe

How much does the Akila Light ice axe weigh? Enough to break the ice but not your back on the ascent.

The Akila LT was designed out of passion for steep skiing. What started as a homegrown experiment at Blue Ice grew into a product for the market as the tool for the committed steep skier. 

Designed as a lightweight tool for ski mountaineering, the Akila LT is 43 cm long, but maintains the same technical pick and hammer as the original Akila. The shaft is cut diagonally at the base, allowing it to double as a spike when caning with the piolet. The integrated Tech Pommel is a compact trigger rest that can be tucked out of the way on less technical sections and deployed for a confident grip in steep neve and ice. 

The Akila Light hammer can also function as a third tool in the summer months.
